Time is on their side, as i've said since the jump they don't need to move Simmons for nothing.
Would we like this to get resolved asap? Abso-fucking-lutely. Do they need to trade him right now just to trade him and not care about the return? Nope. His value is as low as it's going to get right now after that second round performance and these "reports" of him not responding to the team. Why would they rush to trade him now for less than what he's worth? He's under contract for a very long time, at the end of the day the Sixers can hold out until closer to the season and let someone like Dame return from the Olympics and request a trade out of Portland.
Morey knows how to wheel and deal, he won't let this team get fucked over like BB would have done.
You’re definitely right about time being on their side. There isn’t really a question about how well these guys do in the regular season so waiting until Ben builds his stock back when regular season games get under way is the smart move for sure. If this was a team not capable of getting top seed it would be different.
