One thing to keep in mind here is that 76.3% of the U.S. population is white, compared to just 13.4% black.
Wayyyyyyy more white people in the U.S. therefore naturally there are going to be more of them utilizing government benefits.
67, but close enough. Also if you go by poverty rates, white people having much less poverty rate, . 40%+ of participants of food stamps are white but their poverty rate is 7%, compared to 18.8% poverty rate for Black people with usage of 25% of the program. But idk why we are using food stamps as a barometer this is almost a direct reflection of poverty levels which are higher for minority populations.
And lets be honest here, the 60s-80s justice system was one of the most racist & oppressive systems and that's just our parents generation. They were putting black people in jail like hot cakes, taking away fathers & the highest bread earner, destroying family units, and basically putting millions of families into poverty for generations. Right now white people are suffering & being ravaged, lives destroyed etc from an Opioid and drug abuse epidemic in the Midwest by Big Pharma but the big difference is that in the 80s we were putting black people in jail in masses & demonizing them for it lol.
