I'd rather see a 78-74 playoff game than a 138-134 playoff game. We need to back to the days when scoring 120 was crazy and 90-100 was the norm. We got scrub ass squads puttin up 140 on a nightly basis.

Facts, really annoying tbh. Most of us grew up watching that physical style of basketball, and even then it was already on the down turn. I find it hard to REALLY get engaged in todays game as a result tbh.

The game is so different now, so much more advanced and demanding on the players. Modern basketball in the NBA is all about space and pace, opening up the floor and forcing defenders to defend in space.

Years back guys barely shot threes, so the floor was smaller and scoring output was naturally going to be limited. Plus the pace of the game was much slower, so there were fewer scoring opportunities. Now you've got 7 footers taking the ball up court and pulling up several feet behind the 3pt line like it's nothing. Big men back then didn't have to leave the paint, on either end of the floor which made life easier and more straight forward for them.

Players today are more skilled, everyone knows that. They run faster, jump higher and can do more in the game. As expected like anything else, they evolve over time and we're at a point now where it's turning into a positionless game and players can do everything.

well apparently nobody wants to see Lebron James either

considering latest finals ratings did worse than Pistons/Spurs

Yeah, can't have anything to do with this pandemic thing going on

Ratings have been down across all sports across the board, not just the NBA. Especially around that time.

I want to see players be rewarded for playing tough, standing their ground, and playing the ball. Pretty much the only foul should be getting hit in the face or hit/grabbed by the arm. Bodily contact should be allowed. Charge/block would be eliminated. Flopping would be pointless. The game would be a violent bloodsport.

To be clear, technicals and flagrants would stay essentially the same.

that'd be awesome, players like Curry, Kyrie, Booker, and Trae would suffer immensely

Curry is clawed, held, pushed, and fouled on every play. The fact that we'd actually be allowed to do it back would make the 2017 Warriors look like the modern day Pistons.
