because they won by more then 9 points ( if it had been 9 exactly it would tie) if it was anything less then 9 id lose

Oh I see. So the spread is -9 clippers assuming the clippers will win by more than 9 pts, but what if they lost vs the nuggets tonight? Does the bet push or you completely lose your bet

Edit: also what does it mean when the spread is .5 for example -3.5

If the score is Clippers 109 Nuggets 100, it gets treated as Clippers 100 Nuggets 100.


So if Nuggets won 100-99 it's actually as if they won 100-90 spread wise.

0.5 on spread is to stop a tie.
