as long as we don't have to hear about it all fucking summer I could care less where he goes.

LOL, Dwight Howard is all you hear about on sports-talk radio in Houston and likely Los Angeles. I wouldn't say Dallas because the Dallas Cowboys are all that matters there most of the time. I've got on the local sports show now and it's been Dwight Howard talk for the past hour. No Astros, no Texans, nothing else matters except Dwight Howard and the Rockets' free agency plans.

Things will only heat up the closer July the 1st arrives. That is when the Rockets can officially contact both Dwight Howard and his agent Dan Fegan. I think Dwight should announce his decision on ESPN anywhere from July 15 to August 1. Create a big buzz like LeBron James did.

Lin making 15 mill

Hahahaha

Yeah, in his third and final year. But by then it's easier to swallow a big contract. It may be useful in a trading deadline trade. Omer Asik's contract is set up the same way as a poison-pill contract. It does not affect the Rockets for the 2013-2014 NBA season.

so are the Rockets trying to acquire Dwight AND keep Asik? Or will Asik be part of the deal to acquire him?

The Astros are going to be bottom feeders for a really long time so that's understandable - but the Texans have a legitimate chance at a Super Bowl. One would think they'd be in the mix of conversation more than, let's be honest, a team whose ceiling is probably a WCF whooping.

Does it matter? Asik has a lot of value in this league.

I don't know if they will. They would like to have both Dwight Howard and Omer Asik. Ranked 1st and 3rd in rebounds per game this past season. They would likely play the Turkish Hammer some minutes at power forward and also at backup center when Dwight needs a breather.

It wouldn't shock me if the Rockets trade some of their young players like Thomas Robinson, Terrence Jones and especially Greg Smith if it helped them land somebody good in a sign-and-trade deal. I don't think the Rockets will trade Omer Asik, Chandler Parsons or Jeremy Lin this summer but crazier things have happened.

Dwight Howard is a fucking cancer to this league.
When LeBron left Cleveland he did it in a dick way but it was like ripping a bandaid.
Dwight just constantly does shit, complains about his coaches, teammates and has no loyalty.

Nobody should blame LeBron for leaving Cleveland. Our best sign/trade was Mo Williams...
There was no talent throughout the years on that team and they never gave it to him.

you do realize that it's the media blowing things out of proportion because that's how they get their money.
