One ball.

Two ball dominant players.

Harden is 37 years old. He wants to play off ball and score 20 and not be in the spot light. Cavs are gonna give him exactly what he wants.

Oh you my friend don't know who Harden is apparently...

In Harden's words, he IS the system. It's not like he was the main guy in LA, where his USG% is just 18th in the NBA (well behind Kawhi), or on Philly where he played behind MVP Embiid and often times took a back seat to young Maxey, or in Brooklyn where he gave way to KD. Same shit, different city he just doesn't stick around and can't be kept happy.

From cleveland.com:

But James Harden?

The James Harden who walked away from the Clippers to demand a trade as the team had just won 17 of its last 21 games?

The same James Harden who has asked to be traded FOUR times in the last SIX years. That has to be some kind of dubious record.

Here’s the breakdown:

2020: He asked Houston to trade him. He was shipped to Brooklyn in a four-way deal that brought Jarrett Allen to Cleveland.

2022: He asked Brooklyn to trade him. He was shipped to Philadelphia.

2023: He asked Philadelphia to trade him. He was traded to the Clippers.

2026: Now he wanted the Clippers to trade him, and they did.

I don’t care that Harden is a superior player to Garland. Is that what you want to bring to Cleveland?

Four trade requests in six seasons. Then add in leaving the Clippers with 1 1/2 seasons left on his contract as they are in the middle of a hot playoff run.

Add the Clippers to the list of teams he becomes disgruntled with πŸ™„

He asked Houston for trade cuz they sucked

He asked nets for trade cuz Kyrie was burning sage in the locker room

He asked Philly for trade cuz embiid is injury prone and misses 50g a year

He asked Clippers for trade cuz he wanted to come to Cleveland, to win a ring

Watch that video I posted.

It's always everyone else's fault. Never Harden's fault

FYI...Embiid played 68 & 66 games in the two seasons Harden was in Philly (winning MVP in one of them and finishing 2nd in MVP voting the other). He played way more games than Harden did. Next excuse please.

Anyways, I do like this trade for Cleveland overall. They weren't going anywhere with what they had, so it's worth gambling and seeing what you can get with Harden for a season or two before he imploded and looks to leave.

Maybe Mitchell will pick up the slack when Harden has his usual 30+ pt playoff explosion followed by the inevitable 2 for 17 dud the next game.

Also, this gives the Cavs a truly elite playmaker at point. Harden's passing and court vision should help Mobley and Allen get easier looks.

Buddy, James Harden is not here to score... he's here to break down the D, make players around him better with excellent passing & hit the 3... he will get his shots though... great great addition

just a matter of it all coming together

Don't forget the Sixers own the Clippers 1st round pick in 2028 (unprotected) AND 2029 pick swap unprotected.

Aging like fine wine. 😎
