The latest rumor I had seen involving a Rockets blockbuster trade for Giannis this summer. With Kyle Kuzma also included.
Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr., Cam Whitmore, Dillon Brooks, Suns' 2027 unprotected first, Suns' 2029 unprotected first.

The overall salaries match perfectly. About $71M in total.

Sengun's got a poison pill contract - about to go from $5M a year to $34M a year. He can't be traded until July 1, 2025 but that will be soon.
But that will be after June 25's draft. Which is likely the Rockets will just use that 10th overall pick on a young talent if they're trading away guys.

I'm torn on this trade rumor because Alperen Sengun is a 22-year-old blossoming star. First time all-star. Would rather deal Jalen Green before Sengun.

Rockets consider Amen Thompson an untouchable and would not entertain trading him. They would, however, throw Reed Sheppard in any trade.

For the record. I'd rather the Rockets just trade for Kevin Durant. It wouldn't be as costly. We can keep Sengun, Jalen and Amen.
