How can one make such claims when they've never been a coach before?
Such a dumb decision. Just cuz he has a podcast now he qualifies to be a coach. WTF Jeanie.
That's what his interview was about. The NBA is constantly evolving and seems like he will be a coach who is able to keep up with the evolution of it.
"He explained his decision-making process when it comes to strategy, how the analysis and empirical evidence would always guide his choices rather than preconceived notions or outdated beliefs. Redick described a system molded around this roster, focusing on elevating Anthony Davis’ involvement, particularly late in games, and alleviating the constant ballhandling duties on James by utilizing him more off the ball. Keeping James, who turns 40 in December, fresh down the stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs will be critical."
In the past he's talked about "Always Becoming". Meaning he's always adding and adapting to situations and that he is never complete/satisfied.
They've run through coaches since Phil Jackson that have been fired before running out of there contracts.

Mike D'Antoni

If he doesn't workout then they'll just find a new one it's not really a big deal. The coach can help the team but are not as important as the players on the roster.
Help him out by getting an assistant coach who has been a head coach, like Scottie Brooks. And see how it goes.
Vegas thinks his hire was a positive move.
