Sounds like the Sixers have no interest in trading Maxey for Dame, AND realize Dame has a preferred destination in Miami.

"I’m told the Sixers are aware that Damian Lillard has a preferred destination to go to Miami. So it is not likely they could heavily get involved in trading for him unless Dame’s preferred choice changes.
I’m told Sixers are not interested in trading Tyrese Maxey."

"Have heard pretty consistently that the Sixers have no interest in putting Tyrese Maxey in any trade conversations, including a potential pursuit for Damian Lillard. Philadelphia, and other teams, are of the belief the Miami Heat are Lillard's preferred destination."

Maxey is the most popular 76ers player among Philly fans right now. Everyone loves him, so there would be a full on riot if they did trade him lol. I think ownership knows how good he is, how good he will become, and how much he is loved within the fanbase which makes it hard to move him for a player who is 11 years older than him.

With that said...i think a lot of people underestimate just how good Dame is, right now. Maxey could reach that level eventually, but right now you'd get a bonifide superstar who isn't afraid of the moment. Embiid isnt getting any younger, and realistically only has a few more years at most before we see a clear decline set in. I hope Maxey continues to take major steps each season, if he keeps up at his pace he should be in the All-Star convo next season. Who knows how the Harden situation plays out, but all I know is we need Maxey to be an alpha if we want to win with or without Harden on the team. He needs to be the clear cut #2 guy.

Agreed. If he is going to be excluded from trade talks even for players like Dame, he better become what they think he can be. But he’s given the team and fans no reason to think he won’t. Each year he’s just gotten better and better. Still so young
