Spurs just had the guts to trade a fringe All-Star at the apex of his value. They also position themselves better by drafting higher in a stronger class, then having trade ammunition to surround their new franchise player with good role players in 25-27. The only way this deal is justified by the Hawks is if Murray is a perrenial All-Star, which I don’t believe having him play off ball next to Trae will unlock anything beyond what we’ve seen from him so far.
