It's 2022 though, you have to be able to space the floor and/or create for yourself as a big man if you want to be a centerpiece. The days of centers being one dimensional and just standing in the paint all game are over. Now they are asked to defend in space on the perimeter, switch often, and be able to pick and pop or at the very least knock down an open corner three or mid range jumper.
If not, you just fall into the role of being a solid piece but not someone you can build around type of players like Gobert, Allen, etc who all get exposed in the playoffs.
