I'm really puzzled by the relationship the players have with Boston. The team has no problem luring free agent stars: Horford, Kyrie, Hayward, Kemba... but after playing in Boston these stars seem extra eager to run for the hills

I can't think of another team in the league that has that sort of dynamic

Boston approached Kemba basically saying yea fam we want to trade you, Kemba got hurt by this and now its a Kemba vs Boston situation

I have to imagine the situation is not great for Boston now, Kemba's value is even lower than KP due to his knees

I could see Dallas and Boston be a good match for a deal here. Porzingis for Kemba + #16

Admittedly the Celtics would probably prefer a different package (mix of a few good role players from a team like Orlando, Toronto, New York, or Chicago) but those teams would have no interest in Kemba

Kyrie was free of charge and Ainge fumbled getting any long term value out of it

I think Stevens will be a great fit for their FO and I expect them to start drafting better, especially in the 2nd/UFA

Kemba just came off an All-NBA season and didn't have an injury history before coming to Boston, it's fair to call him a star free agent

Kyrie and Hayward were also clear All-Star caliber free agents at the time

there aren't many teams who have had more FA success than Boston in the 2010's... the problem is they haven't converted any of them into long-term value

you seem to like Fournier but personally I think the Celtics would've been better off with Myles Turner out of the Hayward situation. yea the 5 isn't a super important position in todays NBA but you can't just completely ignore it either

Horford was as average as it gets. He was called average Al ffs. Paid a fucking max.....

Hayward was an All-Star but got hurt first minute of his contract...never the same.

At the time, I said I rather the team do absolutely nothing just for the chance of a grand slam this offseason. Mainly because everyone knew this team had no fucking shot this year.....

Hayward + Kemba = combined 15 seasons and 7 playoff game wins before Celtics youth carried them :rofl:

Kemba has been overrated since coming from college ball.

He is only a 19/4 guy He is on the bottom of good shooters that can actually score and his assists are too low for a playmaker. He is legit just a subpar 'star' in that case. When you add the fact that he has had a few 40-50 point games that just means such a low average he has lots of those 5pt 10 pt games.

Kemba never steps up when he needs to, Kemba always fades and these playoffs Kemba was exposed beyond belief.

Boston thinks they need a scorer to finish their team and it didn't work with Kyrie (one of the best scorers in the game) so why did they think Kemba (a worse Kyrie) would solve their problems.

I could be wrong but I think Boston needs to pay for a Legit Center and they need a good 6th man. Theis is not your guy sorry Theis ur great off the bench but naw fam.


(imo) Boston should trade Kemba for an allstar Center and get a couple MLEs on some vets that can go into the game for 3 minutes without blowing a 10 point lead.

OKC made final all drafted
Heat made a mickey mouse final with Jimmy

All other signings lead to nothing so I think we’re grouped up with everyone
