Honestly I think the FO keeps Beal this season. They wanted to see Beal play with Westbrook. They gave up assets to do it. Westbrook is garbage right now, but he's also injured, so maybe he returns to form (doubtful, but possible).

To the rational observer it makes no sense—it's a sunk cost fallacy to hope Westbrook makes this team a contender—but I think they hold out for the slim chance that things work out like they had hoped it would.
