been in the same keeper leagues for years and we are having a redraft for the first time. h2h points standard scoring with a slight emphasis on BA. -.5/k, 1/BB, -.5/AB, 2 for a single, 3 for a double, 4 for a triple etc.
top batters last year:

Mookie 566.5
jose ramirez 523
Yelich 519.5
JD 517.5
Trout 503.5
Lindor 471
Bregman 462.6
Machado 440
Arenado 432
Story 419
Freeman 413
Harper 409.5
Benintendi 392.5

So we keep 6 each year with no loss of draft pick etc. I have pick 2 in one draft and 5 in the other.

1)Betts
2 and 3)Ramirez or Trout
4 and 5)Lindor or Bregman

I will take Betts no matter what but if he is gone do i go with Trout or Ramirez (2B/3B) who is a bit younger and eligible at 3B/2B for the second pick?

In my other draft with pick 5 Assuming Betts, Trout and Ramirez are gone who would you take at 5 Lindor or Bregman (3B/SS) if both were available?

So basically the two bold questions for a keeper league that i will be in for another 10 years. Should anyone else go #5?

Harper

Hmm. Seems risky but he could easily be #1 over the next 5 years in Philly if he stays healthy. I have him just out of the top 5

i know. Schwarber made a very compelling argument for Ramirez at 1 or 2 due to weak 2b. E/ not passing on Betts ever

it's a pitchers park

3 year average Harper is the 14th batter

If i knew Arenado would stay in Colorado he would be a possibility at top 5

trout. i dont think ramirez can have a better season than he did. i would predict his hr total will dip due to his size.

Trout's obviously the more consistent player but I'd take Ramirez due to the fact there's no other 2b that will come close to his 30/30+; even with a terrible final two months; he still barely had fewer points than Betts.

The big difference is who you have to plug in at 2b by not taking Ramirez. The next best 2b is Albies/Torres/Altuve; that's a HUGE drop off compared to what you could be dropping down from an OF'r.

Don't get me wrong Trout's the best player in Baseball; Ramirez is slightly more risky but is what will win you a championship.

With that said; since this is a keeper league, you also have to consider that Ramirez doesn't play 2b at all next year and loses his eligibility the following year.

he could lose 2B and i agree Trout is probably the safer pick. In my league its 10 games this year or last for position eligibility. I could see him getting another 10 games there. I might just try to trade up and get Betts and not sweat the choice. Thoughts on my 5th pick?

Umm i think we havent seen bregmans peak yet, he was just scratching the surface imo. We know what lindor can do, but i think astros lineup is safer so for me bregman. idk who hits behind ramirez/lindor.
