First ballot hall of Famer. Congrats to the greatest pitcher I've ever seen live in Philly and my fav pitcher of all time.

RIP Doc

Chase Utley on Roy Halladay being voted into Hall of Fame

“One of the great pleasures of my career was being able to play behind a man like Roy Halladay. He was fierce. He was competitive. He was focused. But, most of all, he was great. Not just a great player but also a great teammate and a great friend. On the field, Roy wanted nothing more than to bring another championship to Philadelphia. Off the field, he wanted nothing more than to be the best husband and father he could be. He was someone I admired then and still do today. Jen and I send not just our congratulations to Brandy, Braden and Ryan, but also our thanks for sharing Roy with us and the city of Philadelphia"

I read something chase said about roy. Said the first day when everyone had to report for training, after roy was traded, chase showed up at like 6am before everyone to get a look at what the team would look like that year, he walked into the cafeteria, and doc was eating breakfast having already finished his entire workout before anyone else even showed up lol.

I believe it.

Roy was a monster when it came to his work ethic and dedication. I was amazed at the time watching him (he was my fav non philly pitcher prior to even coming to Philly) but now looking back I took for granted just how good he was. I wish we could have gotten him a championship....that season when we had Halladay, Lee, Hamels and Oswalt was ridiculous and somehow got eliminated in the first round.
