Pitt and STL will fall off for no doubt. Brewers could hang with the Cubs again, and if they make a run for a guy like Archer it could spell big trouble. But I dont see them, or anyone else being able to hold off the Cubs ... too much talent on that roster for them to not win....
I mean, what if they made a trade for Machado... a lineup with Bryant, Machado, Rizzo, Contreras ... Deadly AF. And with other guys they can go on big streaks like Baez and Schwarber?? Just dont see how anyone could possibly compete with that
to an extent, i agree with you. the cubs are the most talented team in the division and probably will hold off the other teams by seasons end.
but what if stl trades for machado instead? i doubt it happens, but theyre supposedly in on him and have more desirable pieces to get him if god forbid mozeliak wants to take a run.
i feel like the cardinals are also deeper than the cubs currently, so if the cubs substain some injuries, itll hurt their projections alot more.
milwaukee is right there too.
i see the division coming down to 3 or less games so by no means is anyone so much better that "no one could possibly compete with."
