Just putting this out there... 0.7 WAR means he is above replacement level lol that's exactly what the stat is.

Lol.... 77 wRC means he created less runs than average, AKA he was a worse hitter on average. Also, average =/= replacement level. So 77 wRC is NOT necessarily below replacement level.
WAR uses defense because that is also valuable to a team.

If you want to know how he compares to the average (which is about 2.0 WAR I believe, for the record), use WAA.

god everyone knows hes above average defensively you are stuck on repeat. he is barely almost replacement level even with his defense lol. move along
