so i just found out i drew the 2nd overall pick in a 12 team H2H keeper league were starting this year.

the rules for this league are pretty simple: you get 3 keepers and you can keep them indefinitely. it doesnt matter where they were drafted or how long theyve been on your team.

so obviously trout is gonna go first, which is why i hate having this 2nd overall pick.

i feel like its between 3 or 4 guys but theyre all pretty close to equal in my eyes.

mookie betts- 5 category stud hitting in the middle of a potent red sox lineup
kris bryant- huge power numbers hitting in the middle of a deep cubs lineup, plus has multi position eligibility
bryce harper- huge potential and the idea of him signing his next contract in yankee stadium has me thinking

then theres machado, altuve, arenado, and goldschmidt but i dont see them in the same tier.

theres also the option that i swap draft positions with someone. i know the guy in the 7th spot is willing to swap, but is it worth it?

if it is worth it to swap someone not for the 7th spot, what spot is it worth it to trade for (besides 1st)?

Keep the pick. Take Betts or Bryant depending on leagues rules. Also there is a slim chance that Trout doesn't go first.

Hmm I'm h2h points so in my leagues it was Betts>Altuve>Bryant last year. This is basically a guy you want to keep for the next 7ish years so i just would stick to one of these 3. Bryant has 3b and of in my leagues but might have 1b too in yours? That's hard to ignore. I just wouldn't want the risk i see in Harper and I wouldn't want a 1b as my #1 guy.

i dont think bryant will have 1b eligibility in my league.

so it comes down to drafting bryant as a 3b with of eligibility to add a slight bit of value, or mookie as my OF #1

i dont think OF is as deep as usual, as its more top heavy this season.

im leaning betts, but i may end up changing my mind
