I am so glad this is the first year I get to enjoy baseball with very limited stress. I just accepted an offer to sell my house, we head to Spokane this weekend to find a new house. I will have profited enough from the house to have a down payment on a bigger home, and pay off my student loans. So I start my new career debt free, outside of the house, in April with my fiancé and step son moving over with me. Time to save up for the wedding and adoption process.

Congrats bro. I just moved as well (to Florida). Living without roommates for the first time. I also had to buy a new car  I've spent like $25,000 to essentially restart my life out here. I start my new job in 2 weeks. No wife or kids tho

That's awesome, congrats dude. What's the new career?

I'm just throwing this out there - I got married about a year and a half ago, and we only had our parents at the wedding. Instead of spending a lot on the wedding, we spent that money going on our honeymoon for two months. Obviously it wouldn't be the same situation for you because you have a dependent involved, and you may outright hate the idea of a small wedding. If you don't, though, try to think about what else you could spend that money on, and think if a big wedding is really worth it to you.

Lol my bill will be about 60k to get resituated, but most of that will be a down payment on a house. It's exciting and scary.

We talked and I want the wedding, she doesn't care but I'm paying for it. xD Also congrats! We're all, well... Most of us are growing up and maturing.

Currently I'm a microbiologist, not really sure what you would count the new job as term wise but it's a state job and I keep track of city drinking water to make certain it's sanitary. I'll be in charge of all of Eastern Washington.
