I was so excited to watch the Astros versus Orioles game today. It should already be in the middle innings by now but a rain delay has gone on for nearly 90 minutes now. The tarp was still on the field and the darkened skies looked like it was the setting for a horror movie when they had another game update on Root Sports Houston.

These two teams do not play again so they have to do anything it takes to get this game in.
Otherwise they will have to play this game on a scheduled off day for both teams. If there's one.

Yulieski Gurriel was set to make his MLB debut, DH-ing and hitting sixth.
I'm super excited to see the Cuban star proving all the doubters wrong.

Dallas Keuchel was on the mound. He's been having a down year but he could come alive any given game. He had a complete game shutout against the first-place Rangers a few starts ago. I just know the beard is ready to dominate again. His velocity on the fastball is back up to where it needs to be and he's hitting his spots on both sides of the plate.

The Astros are trying to win three games in a row against the mighty O's, taking the four-game series 3-1.

After we got embarrassed the first game (13-5 loss) the Astros got some revenge and decided to turn things around, giving the Orioles a taste of their own medicine, by blowing them out 15-8 and 12-2 the last two games. And that's a tough stadium to win games as a visiting team.

This fourth game was supposed to be our "we're for real" statement game.
A chance for the Astros to pull to within 3.5 games out of the 2nd AL wild-card spot.

We still need to catch not only the Orioles but the red-hot Mariners. But we play the Mariners 6 more times. Our offense is red hot right now too: George Springer, Alex Bregman (the kid is mashing lately), Jose Altuve and Teoscar Hernandez are all raking with the bat and on fire in this series. Carlos Correa and A.J. Reed, I had a feeling were both going to go yard today.

But this rain delay has certainly put a damper on things...
Come on, Baltimore. That's a great city and please play ball today!

EDIT: Another live update on Root Sports Houston: 2 PM Houston time - this game was supposed to start at 12:35. The big scoreboard at Baltimore is telling their fans to expect a lengthy rain delay. It's already been a long delay already.

I guess they are prepared to wait all day and afternoon for the rain to pass. Even if this game starts later tonight. I would hate to see the Astros hitters locked in at the plate like they are and no game is played today. We need this win to inch back into the AL wild-card race!

Rain is the only thing that can save that overrated Orioles pitching staff. (sorry O's fans).
Even 15-5 Chris Tillman was lit up for 6 earned runs in 2 innings last night.
After that first game the Astros look like a different team: I want to see three straight wins at Baltimore!

I've got nothing but love for Orioles fans but I want this game to be played today!!!!

A little over a four-hour rain delay in total: But it appears the game is going to start soon.

Houston Astros ‏@astros 20 minutes ago
Baseball! Here! Soon!

That was the last update. It's 4:40 PM CT now. So I guess it could start any minute now.
My Root Sports Houston channel has been looping a Craig Biggio Hall of Fame special for the past four hours!

But I should be getting the broadcast of the game soon.

There it is on Root Sports Houston! Alan Ashby and Geoff Blum are in the booth...

It's almost time for this game to start. The players are on the field waiting for the first pitch.
They're about to start playing soon. I'm going to go watch the game on my big screen in the living room.

George Springer just took strike one for the first pitch of the game!!!!
