Yeah he is amazing and most certainly underrated. Trout still gets my MVP vote though. .315/.420/.550 with 20 homers/20sb and ridiculous defense

edit: i think altuve gets it tho, regardless of playoff teams.
altuve has 19 HRs and 26sb, leading the league in avg and OBP, as well as OPS+

but i agree in that i think altuve wins the award if he keeps this up. voter fatigue is a thing, just look at dickey over greinke for the cy

well i agree with u, but its a huge factor in the voting.
tell me how trout won MVP in his 'worse' mlb season, but got 2nd with 3 seasons that clearly paced everyone.

Triple Crown was pretty cool tho, hard to vote against something historic like that

his stats arent close to trouts or altuve's.
the fact that trout is a handful of RS and RBIs behind donaldson (whos on a playoff contending team), and trout is on like the 6th or 7th worse team in baseball, just goes to show how much better trout is than donaldson. and how much better altuve is than everyone.

20 years old, going almost 30/50 in like 140 games, while leading the league in RS, SB and OPS+
not to mention the defense, he not only played a great CF that year, he robbed literally 4 HRs just that season.

Ah yes, discussing 2 potential mvp candidates must mean we're ignoring everyone else
