So, haven't played baseball in around 8 years or so. Just didn't want to play anymore after my sophomore year in highschool, which I regret. I recently got a Bushnell radar gun as a gift and hit 77 mph. How much faster could I get my fastball if I started throwing more, if it would at all? Not sure if that's just something you are born with and won't change, cause I remember someone telling me that when I was younger. Over the 8 years since, I've played just regular catch maybe 1-2 times a year. Thanks!

Kind of impossible to answer really. Depends entirely on your current physique/workouts, your genetics (fast twitch vs slow twitch), your mechanics, etc. Honestly pitching is a whole body thing. You need strength from your legs and your core to provide the power when you push off the rubber, but you also need to work out your shoulder, back, forearm and tricep (as well as keeping them stretched) But that can be negated if your mechanics change/worsen from pitch to pitch. But without knowing anything else about you, it's pretty impossible to predict.

Probably not by much judging by your age.

For sure. I'm sure my mechanics are horrid and I don't work out honestly. Have a pretty physical job but no lifting weights. Thanks for the reply man.
