The Astros had a rough 2-2 series split with the Athletics to end the all-star break. It was frustrating.
So close to the two AL wild-card spots. Alex Bregman is the lift that could be the difference in the second half.

A.J. Hinch said that Alex Bregman will not be joining the Astros this weekend in Seattle but that he'll likely help the team during the stretch drive. So that either implies a September 1 call up when the rosters expand, or perhaps in the near future.

I'd be shocked if he isn't called up by the end of this month or the early part of August.

The non-waiver trading deadline is in a couple of weeks so maybe if the Astros make a deal that could accelerate his call up.

I hope they don't trade Alex Bregman, LOL.
He'd be the premier prospect I'd be asking for if I were another team.

The Astros had scouts watching Ryan Braun play during the past few weeks, but I highly doubt they can acquire him via trade from the Brewers. I don't see a match there: The Astros would have to give up too much, and Braun can veto a trade to Houston. Just like Cole Hamels did with the Phillies last year.

Ryan Braun has a list of six teams he can be traded to...
Angels, Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Giants, Marlins and Padres.

So I'm not sure if Ryan Braun would be okay coming here.
He would love hitting at Minute Maid Park though. Man, he'd rake here.

Having a guy like Ryan Braun in the middle of the Astros lineup (after Springer, Altuve and Correa) would be huge but it's all a fantasy.

Profar, only if somebody really special became available in a trade, like Chris Sale for example.
But the White Sox are only 4.5 games out of the second wild-card spot (behind 3 teams).

I doubt they are sellers unless they go on a nice little losing streak over the next few weeks.
And even then I'm not sure they would ever trade Chris Sale unless they receive a bounty of elite prospects.

Ryan Braun wouldn't be worth our top prospect even though he's having an excellent year.
Sonny Gray and his struggles this year, will not cost any team any of their top prospects I don't think. Maybe two or three decent ones.
