these legendary quotes...

Quote (Aimerd @ Aug 24 2011 07:53pm)
An example

bottom of the 9th tie game with 1 out and a fast runner at third.

Batter hits a high fly ball to deep center field, there is 0 chance the center fielder can throw the tagging runner out.

can't the center fielder try to juggle the ball all the way to the infield and then catch it?

LOL
Oswalt? hes no good, not even comparable to Beckett
lincecum is a rookie, gotta wait another year or two to prove it wasnt a joke.
webb, this was the only year, fluke
Santana > Beckett yes.
Halladay, hes good all-round but beckett > halladay.

Nigga was throwing 95-96 MPH fastballs today and I think it's safe to say the real Hamels is back...

Maybe because he's close to having a winless month? His ERA for the past few weeks has been 2.93 with a record of 0-2.

Not impressive at all, not to mention even though he has a lot of strikes, his secondary pitches are absolutely weak, and get tore up most of the time.

Yu Darvish is definitely a nice pitcher, no doubt top 15 easily. But does he deserve ALSP? Hell no. Sale or Felix have always been dominant and consistent pitchers. Felix deserves it more imo.

http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=13074&position=P#pitchtype For more information on Darvish.

Also, let me point out statistically, its better for your team to have a pitcher with lower ERA than strike outs. He's ranked ninth in lowest ERA which is still impressive, but if you have a couple no decisions like Matt Harvey, who has a legitimate excuse, (Mets offense fucking blows monkey dick,) then you can't use that on Yu Darvish. Its him basically being unable to seal off key games even with a stronger offense, and slightly above average defense on the field.

Didn't say he sucked. Just said he's overrated. 2.93 ERA is good, but you're telling me you'd rather have more K's than lower ERA? Yu Darvish has two nice primary pitches, but no secondary pitches to throw off a player. By the way, I guarantee any GM in the entire world wouldn't have given Darvish 5 50$ Million contract...

Yes I have, stop being a homer. His secondary pitches aren't on the level of Kershaw, or Harvey's.... Like I said no one in the world would've given Yu Darvish that 5 year contract.

And yet you're still a better team than the Marlins/Mets.

Not saying Yu Darvish isn't good. He's not. He's excellent. But he doesn't deserve the starting role, there are 3 pitchers that deserve it ahead of him.

remember when you were saying last year how Cole Hamels was a much better pitcher than Matt Cain?

Cain has pitched 940 innings, Hamels has 801 in their career.

Cain only has 41 more hits, 31 more earned runs and 27 LESS home runs in that 140 inning difference.

Cain has a career ERA of 3.45, Hamels has a career ERA of 3.71

Cain has a career BAA of .229, Hamels has a career BAA of .247

Cain has had ONE year of an ERA in the 4's, Hamels has already had 2, and is on pace for 3 this year

Cole Hamels still only has 2 years with an era over 4. What's Matt Cain at now? Lmao!

Gotta step in here. Cain was dominant until injuries took him
