How his story has unfolded so far:
Quote
2013: 37.6 percent
2014: 35.4 percent
2015: 37.5 percent
2016: 45.2 Percent

Needs 75% to get in. Will be on the ballet for 10 years. The voting process was "refined" this year (i.e. they kicked a bunch of old people off) so a jump in the % for Bonds and Clemens was expected. Some thought it may have even been a bigger jump up to like 50%.

I think he and Bonds both will eventually. In addition to the exodus of older voters, a lot of current voters were first time voters for Bonds and Clemens this year. I think it will come eventually.

Pretty good read on steroids and the Hall of Fame.

I think Bonds should be in and I don't like him. He is a huge part of baseball history. It's beyond stupid to not let him in because of PEDs.

Antonio Gates was suspended for PEDs and he's still basically a lock for the Football Hall of Fame. And he isn't nearly the icon Bonds was. Same goes for Clemens.

That letter perfectly describes how I've always felt. But if they wanna remove the writers, then what would be the new HOF election system?

Former players and managers would be just as biased as the media, if not moreso. Kicking the writers out would create a conflict between them and the HOF/MLB. Since the media controls the public perception, that could be a costly battle for baseball.

You could devise a complicated voting structure that would combine veterans and media to minimize the impact that any specific bias would have on one candidate. Or they could just get off their high horse, let Bonds in and everyone moves on with their lives.
