Hey everyone,

I am a player, have been for awhile, but I am a bit confused on a rule in the Majors.

When you're pitching I thought you had to keep a certain pitching technique. Like Cueto and his wind-ups. I thought pitchers weren't allowed to try and deceive hitters?

Don't hate, it's just a question :)

It's his pitching style to confuse batters

Deal with it

No I understand why he does it, I'm not mad. I'm just curious to the rules. Because in the stretch you pretty much have a set way, I was just wondering if that didn't apply to the wind-up.

You're allowed to have multiple motions and speeds of your windup. It's fine as long as you come set and as long as you don't start your motion then stop, resulting in a balk.
