done for the year with a shoulder strain

cant catch a break with injuries. this team has solid depth but at some point its gonna be too much.

I know that feel. We lost basically our #2 starter in Eovaldi right in the midst of the division hunt.

Thats rough. Their playoff rotation is still pretty loaded tho.

lynn's last start was good, but the 6 before that were pretty bad.

wacha has also been subpar over his last 8 starts.


a rotation of lackey/jaime/wacha/lynn isnt very threatening at all, and since our bullpen has fallen down to earth, i really do think the cardinals are the worst of the mets/pirates/dodgers/cubs/cardinals playoff teams.


i know that doesnt mean much, and anyone can win a short series due to small sample sizes, but for a 97win team that should win 100+ games, this team has SO many holes in it.


i wish waino was stretched out to start, but i dont think thats an option.

i dunno..
mets have zero playoff experience outside of colon (who himself hasnt been anything spectacular)
doyers have greinke, but kershaw is fail so far in his playoff career
pirats and cubs look good.

unfortunately for the cards if they keep the best record they will play either the pirats or cubs lol..

of all playoff teams, the cubs scare me least. theyll have to throw arrieta in the play in game if we can hold on to the division, so theyll have lester, haren, arrieta, maybe hendricks?, and lester again.


theyll still be tough to beat, but their bullpen is meh.

our offense is nothing close to last season, so i doubt we get to kershaw at all. our entire offense in the last month has been based off tommy pham and stephen piscotty. i doubt theyll be our heroes this postseason.


when i look at this team, i see an 85ish win team, not a 100 win team. i really dont want to play the pirates.

I agree with all of this except one thing. Saying the Cubs bullpen is meh is an understatement. It's terrible.
The Cardinals should hold on to the division. Two more against the Brewers and a series in Atlanta. Maybe help the Cubs get homefield in the WC game by beating up the Pirates.

If they can get to the Cubs bullpen they've got a chance. If they lose the division and end up having a date with the Cy Young Arrieta, they're done.
