Tigers manager Brad Ausmus says Royals' Johnny Cueto cheated

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus has an issue with the way Royals starter Johnny Cueto pitched against his team Monday night.

Forget the fact that Cueto silenced KC's bats all night long -- Ausmus says the Royals ace is pitching illegally.

During Monday's series opener between the Royals and Tigers, Ausmus complained to plate umpire Joe West about Cueto's delivery and later told reporters that he was stopping in his windup.

"Really, the way the rule reads, you're not supposed to even alter your motion," Ausmus said. "That's the way the rule reads. They don't enforce it. Well, he said if he stops it's an illegal pitch."

Unfortunately for Ausmus, his complaints fell on deaf ears and his Tigers lost the first two games of the series against the Royals.

I personally like the way JC pitches. I think it's much easier for the opposing team to follow his release point, not to mention he's easier to run on with that long wind-up.

He seems to be a tad bit faster, but his form still remains very mechanical.

That's pretty standard ESPN reporting:

I remember Cueto always changing his delivery, mixing in some quick pitches

Wouldn't call it cheating, but it is a bit bush league

JC is the best right hander in the game at shutting down the run game. Even with the goofy delivery.

The rocking chair one he added this year. Since he stays balanced on his leg in his forward delivery I think it constitutes him still going forward.

But having four different deliveries and arm slots makes it crazy. He's Bronson Arroyo with plus shit across the board.
