Major League debut today. He struck out Mike Trout looking for his first career strikeout.
But he struggled with his command. Jorge Soler smashed a three-run double off him also.

Jorge Soler is an Astros killer. I still remember the 2021 World Series. That massive home run he hit for Atlanta.

So it's 2.2 innings pitched for Tatsuya Imai. 4 earned runs. He came out in a 4-4 game in the Top of the 3rd.
Not an ideal MLB debut. 74 pitches thrown in that brief time. Just struggled with command. First game jitters?

I was excited when Tatsuya Imai signed with the Astros. Many analysts on TV/Radio had him signing with the Yankees, Dodgers or Giants.

It's a long year. He'll probably have less nerves in his second start. He looked like he was so full of adrenaline. Just missing off the plate.

EDIT: I forgot to add he had four walks in total. Joe Espada had no choice to take him out after 74 pitches. He would've thrown 80+ in 3 innings.

Angels take a 6-4 lead in the Top of the 4th. Zach Neto blasted a two-run homer.
Astros bullpen is thin. Josh Hader is out at least a month. This will be a long year.

Going to be tough to stop the Seattle Mariners from winning the AL West again in 2026.

I also got the Texas Rangers on TV. They look good against the Phillies. Andrew McCutchen looks 29 and not 39.

The Astros won 11-9 last night and just scored 3 runs to take a 9-6 lead in the Bottom of the 8th today. LOL
If they're not going to struggle to score runs like last year. A million injuries as well. I can get used to this.

I wish we had Josh Hader to nail down this save. He's not going to be back until early May most likely.

Anyway. That's it for me. I'm going to tame my excitement. It's going to be a long 2026 season. Enjoy it, guys.
I don't want to make a new Houston Astros thread. Forgot the last time I used the old one. It's in the Archives.
