I'll let you know next June. I have to see what the compensation pick turns into. And if that 19-year-old lefty Josh Hader develops it can only be a plus. This can still turn into a really good trade for the Astros long term. Anytime you're talking about three young players involved, and one of them is unknown right now, there is always some potential there.

I realize this is not going to be on the level of what we hauled in for Hunter Pence a few years ago but this is still looking okay on face value. The only way this can possibly turn into a bad trade for the Astros, is if Bud Norris completely dominates over the next 2.5 years, start to shine into that all-star potential he has had for the past five seasons but keeps under-achieving for some reason.

Some light has to turn on in Bud Norris' brain. 28 years old. He still has a chance to become something special. The man has always had ace-like stuff but keeps producing middle-of-the-rotation numbers. I wish him well with the Orioles. I believe he's very capable of becoming a big winning pitcher now that he's on a good team.

I shed a tear.
I wish him well too. Looking forward to seeing him serve up some long HRs

Hoes can get a lot of playing time instantly with the Astros. We've been weak at left field and right field for a long time.

L.J. Hoes is in the starting lineup tonight, playing right field and hitting in the two-spot.

1. Jonathan Villar (S) SS
2. L.J. Hoes (R) RF
3. Jose Altuve (R) 2B
4. Jason Castro (L) C
5. Chris Carter (R) DH
6. Brett Wallace (L) 1B
7. Brandon Barnes (R) CF
8. Matt Dominguez (R) 3B
9. Robbie Grossman (S) LF

I actually like what our lineup is starting to look like. Obviously, we need J.D. Martinez in left field instead of Grossman. And just call up Jonathan Singleton for first base and George Springer for center field, and we would at least be able to compete a little better.

L.J. Hoes flied out to center field in his first Astros at-bat. Bud Norris makes his Orioles debut tomorrow night against the Astros.
Watch Bud Norris pitch a complete game shutout with double-digit Ks. He's going to be motivated to stick it to his old team.

10-0 Astros in the middle of the 6th. Jeez, I didn't see that coming tonight. I thought it would be the other way around. The Marlins have lost a couple games in a row, and the White Sox and Brewers have worse talent than we do -- assuming we call up a couple more top prospects this year.

That first overall pick in next June's draft isn't a guarantee just yet but we should clinch it.
We've got a ton of tough games coming up and no way we'll beat Bud Norris tomorrow night.

Brett Oberholtzer, that guy we got from the Braves in the Michael Bourn trade. He's on his A-game tonight against a stacked O's lineup. He got absolutely lit up in a couple of bullpen appearances since being called up. He was pretty much giving up a run an inning. Making his first MLB start tonight, I was expecting him to get rocked for 5 or 6 runs in the first few innings. He's got a shutout going and seems to be cruising.

I don't remember the last time the Astros had an 11-0 lead. Added another solo shot by Matt Dominguez, his 14th of the year.
