Nearly three homers in a row. Rasmus triples instead. Blue Jays tee-ing off Paul Clemens. But Bautista struck out looking against him in the last inning. Toronto about to bust it open. Should have the last inning with two guys in scoring position.

EDIT: Actually a double for Ramus. The fielding error allowed him to go to third base. I think it's a triple even without the error but whatever.

Blue Jays take a 7-6 lead on an Izturis RBI double.

Homer, homer, double, double off Paul Clemens. Still no outs in the bottom of the 7th.

Clemens, don't quit your day job!!!!!! And now a walk. Five straight to reach base or score on Clemens. This is brutal.

Oh great. Hit a batter. Bases loaded, no outs now. Six straight guys reach. Cue the "America's Funniest Video' music.
And now Bo Porter takes Paul Clemens out of the game. Three or four batters too late. Way to go, Bo. Great managing.

8-6 Toronto. Jose Reyes hit by the pitch with the bases loaded. Wesley Wright is doing his best Paul Clemens impersonation.
I hope Melky Cabrera hits a grand slam. End this misery and give Toronto a 12-6 lead. I don't like run after run scoring this slow.
Cabrera sucks. Pops up. All he had to do was be patient and would have walked or got hit by a pitch. Another pitching change...

How do Melkey Cabrera and Jose Bautista pop up with the bases loaded? Really? Bautista is 0-for-4 tonight.
Don't tell me the Astros will get out of this mess with only four runs scoring and down two runs?
Encarnacion up with the bases juiced and two outs. He led off this inning with a solo homer. LOL

Edwin Encarncion grand slam. Blue Jays lead 12-6

Take a bow big man. Encarnacion with two home runs and 5 RBIs in the bottom of the 7th by himself.

The good news is the Marlins held on to beat the Pirates 2-0. The Marlins have won 4 of their last 5 games.

The race for the 1st overall pick in 2014

1. Astros 34-68
2. Marlins 39-62

Astros are about to lose to the Blue Jays again. Getting smashed 12-6 with a few more outs to go.
Six-game lead in the loss column. We've got the first pick on lock down with 60 games left.
At this point it's not much of a race. The Houston Astros are already on the clock...

The White Sox and Brewers are both approaching 60 losses (at 59) but no need to even worry about them. They're still behind the red-hot Marlins. The Marlins usually go on a big losing streak and then play good baseball for a few weeks in a row. LOL, it all adds up to a competitive team that Miami has right now.

EDIT: White Sox and Brewers still in action right now. Both are about to lose so they will be at 60 losses.
Eh, but still not worried about either. They need to pass the Marlins before I worry about them.

Carlos Correa and Mark Appel. I can't wait until they're called up. Carlos Rodon is next in line. He's going to command top dollar as the 2014 top pick next June. We're becoming the best farm system in all of baseball. All it takes is drafting first overall in every round of the draft. LOL

We should see a big shift in young talent on the Astros roster very soon. Jarred Cosart is already shining in two MLB starts: 1 earned run in 15 innings (0.60 ERA). He makes his third pro start on Sunday against the Blue Jays. But George Springer, Jonathan Singleton and Delino DeShields Jr. are making the case for the big leagues as well.

The only problem is DeShields Jr. is a natural second baseman so he won't have a place to play with Altuve being a long-term fixture for the team. It may take him another year or longer, and the spring time, to better learn how to play third base. DeShields Jr. has elite speed running the bases. He could be called up as a utility player, pinch runner as well.

http://blog.chron.com/sportsupdate/2013/04/delino-deshields-jr-accepts-second-base-challenge/

Good article on 20-year-old Delino DeShields Jr. back in April. The kid is pretty special. He'll have to make the position change though.

Some of these talented guys can't even legally drink a beer in Texas yet. You have to be 21 years old. Carlos Correa is still 18 and barely turns 19 in September. But many have him playing in the big leagues by 19 or 20 years old. He's on the fast track to the show.

I love Jarred Cosart. Reminds me of a right-handed version of Mike Hampton but bigger and not as many strikeouts.
The guy is a groundball machine. So many times he'll induce a double play with guys on base.
Three MLB starts: 1-0 record and two no-decisions but only two earned runs given up in 21 innings. 0.86 ERA.
He would be 3-0 but we can't score. The guy projects as our future number three for a long time, behind Mark Appel and Carlos Rodon.

September 1 when the rosters expand is what I'm hearing. If not then, he'll start fresh in spring training.

I think he'll get in some MLB starts this year though.
