3-0 Astros in the bottom of the 3rd. I hope Oakland comes back. They are making so many sloppy plays in the field, another error.
Please tell me the Marlins are beating the Rockies tonight. I don't even want to glance at that score. Miami hasn't scored in forever.

marlins are winning 3-0 in the 3rd

go astros, they need to sweep that series.

Yeah baby. Two-run homer for Josh Reddick.

Athletics take a 4-3 lead in the top of the 8th after the Astros led 3-0 for most of the game.

Also Marlins still leading 3-1 in the top of the 8th over the Rockies.

Carlos Rodon, here we come!

I know you really want to get the 1st pick but I really can't fathom the idea of cheering for your team to lose

That's unfortunately the case when most of our best players are stuck in triple-A. If owner Jim Crane wants to tank then I have to do what is best for the team in the long run. Although I'll be cheering for an Astros win tomorrow night when Jarred Cosart makes his second big league start.

I think the idea of tanking is bad for professional sports and fans

When our Triple-A team is better than our Major League team, I think that is far worse.
The Astros will be a competitive and exciting young team starting next year. I'll be excited then.
It helps to have the first overall pick next June to snag another quality player. It accelerates the process of rebuilding.

It's frustrating watching this team. Jose Altuve was on second base with no outs in the bottom of the 8th (tying run).
And he gets thrown out trying to steal third base. Ugh. This is why I'm cheering for the first overall pick again.

Astros lost to the Athletics 4-3 and the Marlins won 3-1 over the Rockies.

1. Astros 33-65
2. Marlins 36-61

Four-game lead in the loss column for the first overall pick in 2014.

The Astros have now lost 6 games in a row. Our last win was when rookie Jarred Cosart picked up the win and dazzled in his MLB debut (8 shutout innings) over the Rays. Now it's Jarred Cosart on the mound tonight making his second career big league start against the Athletics.

I'm excited about tonight's game. Cosart is probably going to impress again. The kid is the real deal.
