From someone who has played at the elite level, its a mentally exhausting sport. Have to consistently be good day in day out. Pros play 162+ games a year at a high level. Is the most individual team sport out there. Who falls asleep while playing? The outfield? Try again, they are ready for every pitch to get a good jump on the ball if its hit to them.

Just because its a non contact sport doesnt mean its not a good one. Someone who has never played like you wouldnt understand how much athleticism and brains you actually need to play the game. Im unbiased too because i played rep hockey and enjoyed both sports in different ways.

for example, a grounder to short stop the left fielder is running in to cover incase theres an error. throw to first from short stop, the right fielder is coming in should the throw be off. thats 6 of 9 guys being involved in a simple grounder to short stop.

sure its not as engaging physically as hockey or soccer, but its no less of a sport because of that. the mental side is definitely a lot more advanced than hockey or soccer.
