He averages the same number of innings per start as Wheeler and Chris Sale, the two Cy Young favorites in the NL. He averages as many or more innings per start as every other top tier starter in MLB as well...
You realize it's 2024 and starters don't go complete games often anymore, right? Nola has 1 complete game this season which is tied for 2nd most in MLB (most is 2 this season). Nola gets out of the 6th inning as much as any starter in MLB....
He's everything that you've said he isn't lol. Again, innings per start is literally the farthest issue for Nola. He's rock solid and gives you quality innings consistently going deep, aside from the occasional blowup. Dude is no Wheeler, but he's a damn good top of the rotation pitcher.
