That lineup the Cleveland Indians had in the mid 90s was unreal. I'd say it was arguably one of the best lineups of all time.
Just looking at their opening day lineup in 1996... Wow! No wonder they had the MLB's best record two years in a row and made the World Series twice in three years. It's amazing they didn't have a dynasty and win like four or five World Series in a row.
Kenny Lofton - Center Field
Julio Franco - First Base
Carlos Baerga - Second Base
Albert Belle - Left Field
Eddie Murray - Designated Hitter
Jim Thome - Third Base
Manny Ramirez - Right Field
Sandy Alomar Jr. - Catcher
Omar Vizquel - Shortstop
They also had a young Jeromy Burnitz, who once hit 31 home runs or more in four consecutive seasons, as a pinch-hitter.
Albeit, Burnitz wasn't a big-time slugger until after he left Cleveland but still that team they had was totally stacked.
I like to play the 1994 Cleveland Indians on Tecmo Super Baseball on Super Nintendo from time to time. On an emulator on Vizzed.
Every guy in their lineup can go yard and Kenny Lofton can steal bases with ease. I've never seen him thrown out in that game.
