It should have been Strasburg pitching a shutout in game one. That 1 run is plenty. Nats are horrible shutting him down.

So what, they will do the same next year? Isn't the goal to win the World Series with your best players?

Nationals have a relatively promising future.
The phillies arent going to get better obviously.
Mets and Marlins will sit on low .500 at best.
And the Braves are the only real challenge for the division for the future.


This isnt a 'one and done'...The Nationals arent in anyway more superior than any other playoff team right now...and most likely arent the favorites to win the world series...so why put your future ace at risk (Strasburg) especially at his young age.
If Strasburg was 10 years older and the Nationals looked really good going into the postseason he would have pitched game 1.

I just find it hard to believe they give Strasburg the green light in the future if they're not now?
