he really is turning into the new pedro strop unfortunately despite how good he's been. it def is a mental issue cuz we all know how good jj can be with that cutter. send him down for a rehab assignment imo.

what's peoples take on giving up on arrieta and strop and do you think we got the better end of the deal?

agreed maybe even tommy hunter?

I could very well see both Arrieta and Strop turning into good pitchers. Strop especially probably just needed a new coaching staff and change of scenery. He was lights-out in the WBC, he could very well become a great bullpen arm again. Feldman is just a 1-year rental too, right? Great deal for the Cubs imo.

I was thinking Hunter as a reliever too. I mean you could bring up that HR in the Chicago game, but that was his 2nd inning of work in an extra-innings game. He's been pretty great the past couple months. I also wouldn't have a problem with a closer by committee, play the best matchups etc.

yes! arrieta and strop will def turn it around later in their careers. we both know their potential and arrieta has ace material. we gave up on strop waaay too soon, send him down to the minors even if it was for the rest of the year... he gives us one good year, has a bad half year, amazing offseason and everyone hates him. good deal for us now bad deal in the longrun.

I mean cmon jim Johnson was a lock for the all star game. he has the same amount of saves as mo... pathetic

Time for the exciting Jim Johnson save attempt...

Managed to avoid the sweep, good.

Also, I was seriously lol'ing at the bad luck for the umpire behind the plate today, getting hit on the hand and then getting that huge bruise on his arm...
