BABIP just means they are hitting into a lot of outs, aka non productive at bats. doesn't say line-outs or fly outs. they have almost all been swinging like shit lol

It doesn't. There's a reason low BABIP and high BABIP are statistics that always eventually fall down to the median. Who cares that they've been striking out a lot, that doesn't matter. When they swing at bad pitches they're missing and BABIP doesn't count those, because the ball wasn't put in play. Encarnacion should be hitting above .300 with the way he's hit the ball. Same with Bautista and Lind. Even Rasmus who strikes out at nearly 50% has been hitting the ball well when he makes contact.

The offense has been bad and the discipline needs to improve however it's not as bad as it appears because of how unlucky they've got.

lol... ok, i give up on trying to explain anything since you think striking out a lot hasn't been affecting their poor play so far.

either way, they have not been getting unlucky, at least not at the plate. they have been swinging the bats like absolute shit. i dont care about this babip stat, they have been hitting very few hard hit balls. the team has not said they have been unlucky, they have said we have been playing bad. their pitching staff has been unlucky at times, the offense has not

perfect example is that lead off single jj just gave up. the pitching has given up a lot of bloops and infield hits

every year there will be one team at the bottom of the league for BABIP, and right now its the jays, and its not because of bad luck. they are constantly making poor contact, and thats because of poor approaches at the plate. arencibia and rasmus are #1/#2 in the league for strikeouts, are they unlucky in that aspect as well?

he really needs to stop doing that. last couple years he has been arguing almost every called strike against him, reflects really bad on him.
