It could possibly go for Strop too, even though he was dominate in the WBC, it could be that he didn't get to work on some pitching fundamentals such as command and battlin through adversity.


On another note, we still have that 1-2 punch for the 8th / 9th.. O'Day and JJ, and I feel more confident with O'Day out there then Strop anyday.. I've always felt confident when he took the mound.

True, O'day is pretty legit. Matusz had good stats coming into this game too, .080 opponent BA, though I think that went up today lol.

I like having Matusz able to come in at anytime with runners on and stranding them, instead of stickin him to exactly 1 inning.

Why Buck left Gonzalez in for 4 batters too many is beyond me. At least Mclouth and Manny took the pressure off a bit.
