I've always been told, the best medicine for back pain, is to excercise

but I assume Jays' doctors are smarter than what I've read

Back pain...honestly Ive had a few issues with my back over the years
The best medicine would be rest/stretching.

fuck painkillers.

It seems like you think these guys show up for games.  Their lives are baseball.  Take a few grounders once in a while.  Be ready.  No one expects you to pitch or catch, but you honestly think its a bad thing if a player who has shown the ability to play multiple positions is ready to play them?  I think that makes you a better player and definitely helps the team.

I wasn't over reacting, you guys just made it an argument.  I said he was letting me down by sitting out in a time of need and I stand by that.  This team needed a good start.  There's 15k in the stands now and we're under .500.  Just a typical Jays season.

I could agree with you that he should put effort into being ready to go to 3rd if it is clear he could reasonably be playing that at some time. I just doubt he felt he would end up at third. If anything I'm more bothered by him getting hurt even before he moved to third.

You're right. He should just keep taking every other series off. Superstars don't play 150+ games ever.

I forgot professional athletes are robots.

You could still be right, but playing in a mlb game may not quite be the type of 'exercise' he needs :)

he's not even doing batting practice

Yeah, clearly the trainers don't think he should be doing anything. I was just saying that an injury could still need 'exercise' without getting play time.

he plays a hell of a center field though, not the best arm but he covers a lot of ground and reads the ball off the bat as good as any. his SO rate is bad though jesus, 23 in 46 ab... he is producing still but that number needs to cut down and have more quality at bats. the offense as a whole is slumping though
