No voters will admit to it but there is some award fatigue that goes into the voting. Kershaw and Greinke have both won a Cy Young before so that's why I think Arrieta is a lock for the award at this point. Gotta remember that it's writers that are doing the voting so first time winner = fresh new narratives!

That's not to say Arrieta isn't deserving; all three are deserving. I just think that's the factor that's going to sway the voting in Arrieta's favor.

Imagine the narrative if one guy won it like four or five years in a row though.

That would be the shit.

RA Dickey is the ultimate troll for his win. Kershaw would be going for his 5th straight right now

I know the win stat doesn't mean much anymore. But the Dodgers payroll vs Cubs payroll should factor in when looking at win totals

Why would payrolls have anything to do with an individual award?

Not to mention win totals is a complete luck factor... Hutchison has like an ERA of 6 and he's 13-2 or some shit lmao

If Kershaw gets 300 K's... Holy fuck bros.

ATM He's sitting at 2.16 era, 0,89 whip, 294 K's in 229 innings
Arrieta sitting at 1.82 era, 0,88 whip, 229 K's in 223 innings
Grienke got 1.68 era, 0.85 whip, 192 K's in 214.2 innings

Gonna be close as fuck.
PLS SUM 300KS
