From someone who has played at the elite level, its a mentally exhausting sport. Have to consistently be good day in day out. Pros play 162+ games a year at a high level. Is the most individual team sport out there. Who falls asleep while playing? The outfield? Try again, they are ready for every pitch to get a good jump on the ball if its hit to them.
Just because its a non contact sport doesnt mean its not a good one. Someone who has never played like you wouldnt understand how much athleticism and brains you actually need to play the game. Im unbiased too because i played rep hockey and enjoyed both sports in different ways.
