This is going to be an 0-10 home stand with the Angels and Rangers coming to Houston for the next six games. Albert Pujols is about to continue his domination at Minute Maid Park. "Say hello to my little friend!" If you glance at their upcoming games for the next month-and-a-half, they may be lucky to win once or twice from now until mid June. It's beyond a doubt the toughest schedule in all of baseball.

I'm just guessing that the 8-24 Astros will eventually be sitting with a 10-60 record when this brutal schedule starts to weaken up a little bit. Either way, they are on pace to set the record for the worst season in Major League Baseball history. Anywhere from 120 to 135 losses wouldn't surprise me.

These are all of the MLB teams who have lost 110 games or more in a season. The 2013 Houston Astros will join this select company.

1899 Cleveland Spiders 20-134
1890 Pittsburgh Pirates 23-113
1916 Philadelphia Athletics 36-117
1935 Boston Braves 38-115
1962 New York Mets 40-120
1904 Washington Senators 38-113
1898 St. Louis Browns 39-111
2003 Detroit Tigers 43-119
1952 Pittsburgh Pirates 42-112
1909 Washington Senators 42-110
1932 Boston Red Sox 43-111
1941 Philadelphia Phillies 43-111

I bolded that awful 2003 Detroit Tigers team as motivation because not only was it somewhat recently (a decade ago) but they are now one of the best teams in all of baseball. But the 2013 Houston Astros will very likely surpass all of those teams as the worst record-team of all time. At the very least we'll lose 120 games for the second most losses in MLB history, but I believe we can lose 135 games to surpass that 1899 Cleveland Spiders team.

If you're an Astros fan just enjoy it for what it's worth. Be happy with the first overall pick in the draft for a third straight year.

It's really hard being a fan of this team atm, but knowing we have a bright future is good motivation.

We could start our Triple-A and Double-A teams - keeping only Jose Altuve and maybe two or three other players and instantly improve by at least five or six wins right now. All the organization's top talent is in the minor leagues when a lot of them can out-play what we have at the Major League level.

They may as well call a lot of the top-rated prospects up already. Well, Jonathan Singleton still has another 18 games on his suspension but as soon as he can play I'd call him up to the big leagues. We have jack shit at first base right now. Screw their MLB service time. So they become free agents a year or two sooner? LOL, it beats watching an awful product on the field every night. It's a shame to call the Houston Astros a professional ball club right now. They're a disgrace to all of sports at the moment.

I watch women's college softball sometimes on Fox Sports Southwest. They show more heart and effort than the Astros.

Before the 2013 season is over, I'd like to see Jonathan Singleton starting at first base, George Springer starting in center field and Jarred Cosart being a factor in the starting rotation. Possibly even call up Delino DeShields Jr. to use as a middle infielder (utility player and pinch runner). He's one of the fastest players in the entire organization. Those four prospects, in my opinion, are Major League ready right now.

That is why I want to draft Mark Appel number one overall this June. He's the most Major League ready starting pitcher in this draft. He can step in right away and battle Jarred Cosart for a top-two spot in the rotation because they both have Ace-like stuff. Our starting rotation in the future should be Mark Appel, Jarred Cosart, Lucas Harrell, Bud Norris and Dallas Keuchel.

Other talented prospects are a year or two away. So we have to be more patient when it comes to guys like Carlos Correa, Rio Ruiz, Arriel Ovando and Domingo Santana. The goal is to become a good team in a reasonable time frame. I understand we want to lock down the first overall pick for a third straight year so I don't mind all of the losing right now.

The Astros were ranked 30th and dead last in all of baseball when it came to their minor league system and farm rankings back in 2009. They have since moved up into the top five entering this year. It took them only four years to make incredible progress with their talent growth inside their minor league system. Part of it was from trading away veteran players (acquiring numerous young prospects).

Also when you are picking number one overall in every round of the MLB draft, it's pretty easy to add a ton of talent into your organization. That's the best way to become a solid organization. Scouting is the most important. With another solid draft this June (2013) and next June (2014), the Astros should be ranked number one in all of baseball in terms of minor league talent. Of course, by then a lot of their minor league talent will already be playing for the Houston Astros. So we have to replace those players moving up through the system eventually.

It's a possibility that all of the Astros' minor league teams will make the playoffs this year (Triple-A, Double-A and Single-A). They all have a winning record right now. All of that winning inside the organization is wonderful to see. I just can't wait until it's happening on the big league level with the Houston Astros.

2015, 2016, 2017. One of these upcoming years is going to be a breakthrough. 2013 and likely 2014 will be a lot more growing pains.

I've seen the last four Seattle games. They are far from a contender. They are slightly better than the Astros. If that.

4-2 against Seattle this year. Our only two series won. LMAO

Can't wait until we play again in mid June. That may be our next win!

C.J. Wilson is going to toss a gem against the Astros tonight. I'll guess eight innings of five-hit ball, zero earned runs and ten strikeouts.
