Tigers now lead 15-1 in the top of the 8th.

Runner on 2nd base, 2 outs for Miguel Cabrera. Oh wait, Tigers took him out. Thank God! Showing some sportsmanship after all.

Ramon Santiago is hitting instead of Miggy - who was taken out of the game in a blowout.

So Miguel Cabrera ended the game 4-for-4, two home runs, six RBIs, three runs scored and walk.

Two-run homer for Victor Martinez...

Tigers now lead 17-1 in the top of the 9th

Way to pour on runs!

Marlins defeat the Phillies 2-0 and the Astros lose 17-2 against the Tigers. Five losses in a row and ten of their last eleven games lost. The Astros finally take over sole possession of the first overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft. The Astros have the toughest schedule in all of baseball from now until June 9 so the Marlins don't really have a chance to overtake us. That first pick is ours to take for a third straight year.

The race for the 1st overall pick in 2014

1. Astros 8-23
2. Marlins 9-22

Best thing about this game was the unlimited free drinks.

We're on the clock for the first overall pick in 2013. June 6 on the MLB Network. I think we'll draft Mark Appel to pair with last year's number one overall pick Carlos Correa. And whoever we draft number one overall in 2014 nezt year. I'm already scouting the top talent available.

By opening day in 2016 or 2017, we may become the first Major League Baseball team in the history of the game to have three total number one overall picks all starting. And the good news: All of our minor league teams have a winning record right now. We're stacked in the minors with a lot of young talent.

So it's not just the first overall picks to be excited about. We're going to field a competitive, World Series contender, by as early as 2018. But I think by 2016 or 2017 we should produce a winning record if a lot of the young talent pans out. The times ahead look very promising but it's going to take a lot of patience just to get through 2013.

I think we'll flirt with a .500 record in 2014 and 2015 if we call up a handful of our top prospects to start next year - guys like Jonathan Singleton, George Springer, Rio Ruiz and Delino DeShields Jr. and Jarred Cosart. I don't think Carlos Correa, Ariel Ovando and Domingo Santana will be ready in 2014 or 2015, likely by 2016.

I love the future for sure. Watch the minor league teams for the Astros if you want to see some exciting and winning baseball.

thought you guys might find this interesting:

MLB- Cabrera, J.R. Towles and good players
From Elias: Miguel Cabrera: 1st player to have an RBI in 5 different PA in a game since J.R. Towles, 2007 Astros. 5 players have done so since 2000- Sammy Sosa (2000 Cubs), Jeff Bagwell (2000 Astros), Shawn Green (2002 Dodgers), J.R. Towles (2007 Astros), Miguel Cabrera (2013 Tigers)

2000 was the year Bag Pipes was rockin' that Duck Dynasty like goatee. It's a shame J.R. Towles was just a one year wonder. He peaked as a rookie.

Marlins smacked the Phillies 14-2 - they're on a roll now. LMAO this is turning out to be easier than expected.

Astros are losing 8-0 in the bottom of the 4th and about to get swept by the Tigers.

The race for the 1st overall pick in 2014

1. Astros 8-24
2. Marlins 10-22
3. Blue Jays 11-21

I didn't realize the Blue Jays were so close to the Marlins in the standings. Wow, I'll include them for now.

I'm nearly convinced this season can't become any more worse than it has been. Or can it? LOL

Ticket prices should be half off the rest of the season.
