Can someone tell me about the two prospects the Mets got for Dickey?
D'Arnaud was a top 10 prospect in the league, arguably the best catching prospect (Grandal probably better however, not sure if he counts anymore though) in the league. Syndergaard was a top 50 prospect, and one of the Jays "big three". Well it's not really a big three anymore because Nicolino got traded to Miami and Syndergaard is in New York now. Syndergaard got compared to a 19 year old Halladay but I've never seen anyone who thinks his upside was even close to his. Not that Syndergaard's upside is low, he can probably be a strong number #2 starter.
The good thing is Syndergaard (And Nicolino a month earlier) can be easily replaced as the Jays have got some excellent new kids coming up. 18 year old Roberto Osuna throws almost 100 MPH and there's a chance he plays AA next season (He came up to Low A and dominated, he could start in Lansing, move up to Dunedin by June and be in AA by the end of the season. He's got ace potential, same with our new top prospect Aaron Sanchez who is "Garza on the low end, Verlander on the high end".
