Fuck you if you trade away d'Arnaud...
We spend like 5-7 years building up pieces and prospect only to give every single one of them away for overrated, overpaid, overpriced players bringing no youth to the team or any future contention
They're trying to win now but fuck they could have done that by spending money on players during FA and keep our prospect to replace our current players and build a stronger core

Jays still have plenty of youth, they didn't need a catcher, got a quality piece for him, Jays had probably the best pitching prospects in the league and still have our top 2 (Aaron Sanchez and Roberto Osuna), still have Gose, Arencibia is still young. Got a lot of quality prospects last draft like DJ Davis, Matt Smoral, Anthony Alford. Jays have amazing prospects still and now one of the bests teams in the league.

Why the fuck don't we need a catcher when we have JP?
He's horrible at everything related to baseball except for hitting bombs on the rare time where he actually does make contact.
Jays could have done far better buying a FA pitcher than giving up prospects + d'Arnaud for RADickey for one year

Mets want Syndergaard as well

So thats our #1,2,3,5,8 out of 2013 top 10 prospects that we traded away so far
Although the trade with Marlins was good theres no way that the Jays should give up #1 and #2 for a fucking 38yearold rental
If we're in a Christmas charity mood I'll throw in a kidney

1. Travis d'Arnaud, c
2. Jake Marisnick, of
3. Noah Syndergaard, rhp
4. Aaron Sanchez, rhp
5. Justin Nicolino, lhp
6. Roberto Osuna, rhp
7. Marcus Stroman, rhp
8. Adeiny Hechavarria, ss
9. D.J. Davis, of
10. John Stilson, rhp

The hate on Arencibia is absurd. Advanced stats don't tell the story, they tell us Hellickson is a scrub. There is nothing wrong with having JPA as our cathcer moving forward.

You can't get a free agent pitcher as godo as R.A Dickey, and the Jays likely will be able to sign Dickey. He only wants 13 million a season, the Jays would give him that.

Also, Syndergaard isn't the Jays best pitching prospect, that's Aaron Sanchez far and away. Besides, nothings confirmed yet, certain New York sources are reporting Syndergaard and Sanchez, which is completely wrong, AA would never do that.

Theres everything wrong with having JP as a catcher when you have a prospect like d'arnaud.
Greinke, Sanchez both better than RAdickey, they were available and Jays didn't make a shot at them

I think the Jays should sweeten the pot and try to get Niese along with Dickey. That would make the Jays arguably the best team in the AL.

JJ
Dickey
Morrow
Niese
Buehrle/Romero

good god.

Mets are greedy, they'd want too much.

Sanchez is not better than Dickey. Dickey has been one of the best pitchers in the majors in the last 3 seasons, and he's only getting better. Don't care he's 38, his arm is good, he's getting better.

Grienke got 25 million and never liked Toronto, that goes back to his KC days. D'Arnaud is great but so was Jeff Kent and nobody remembers the Jays traded him for 2 months of Daivd Cone.

Skill wise RAdickey is better than Sanchez
But the route of going with him means that we need to win now meaning this fucking year
He already said he wants to go test himself in the FA, and he'll get roughly the same amount of money that Sanchez is getting
Having Dickey over Sanchez puts a timer above the Jays heads meanwhile with Sanchez or Greinke you have opportunities next year, or the year after
Turning 39 is MUCH MUCH more different than turning 29 or 30

Way too big of a gamble
