The more I think about it, the more I don't mind if the trade occurs.
It would suck if D'arnaud was part of it, but having JPA as our everyday catcher for several years isn't all that bad

In terms of Dickey, I was concerned about his age, but he's a knuckleball pitcher so he has a good 3 - 5 years left in the tank, and he is also in good health
If we can sign him to 2015 the trade would make sense.

Many people say his Cy-young performance was a fluke, but looking at his numbers over the past 3 years, he's pitched an average of 205 innings per season with an avg. ERA of 2.95.

I couldn't agree more. This does not sound like an AA trade. A small part of me wants to think that since we have heard so much about it, that it is all bunk. At the same time pretty legit reporters are talking about it. I don't know the mets farm system well, but I don't see how Gose/JP/D'arnoud would be a smart idea to do 1:1 for Dickey.

someone had said last night that if d'arnaud is included the deal would be expanded beyond dickey. i don't really know anyone else on their roster who would be of any use though.

You could always try and find someone who might want that extra piece for something that is useful to you. I think the M's will get him anyways. ;)

Fuck you if you trade away d'Arnaud...
We spend like 5-7 years building up pieces and prospect only to give every single one of them away for overrated, overpaid, overpriced players bringing no youth to the team or any future contention
They're trying to win now but fuck they could have done that by spending money on players during FA and keep our prospect to replace our current players and build a stronger core
