I'd be content to cycle the DH around without having a permanent DH player. As far as backing up first I'd need to take a look at the roster more closely that is a fair point.

Terribad outfielder + going to regress to like a sub .333 wOBA with no pop.

I think it is a good signing, especially since options for left field were quite bleak.
