normally i wouldn't even think "damn if only he could play defense" when a player is 23 and hasn't played in triple a yet but i'd much rather have him in the batters box than izturis, andino, harris, or green. hopefully brob doesn't get hurt but the dude is one bad slide, bad swing, bad dive at a grounder, etc. away from missing another season.

let's hope that he continues to hit well in triple a this season and can improve that defense to at least mediocre so that we could use him if roberts ever gets hurt like he did last year.

i wonder who would hit leadoff if brob gets hurt again while we are on the subject. i may be really out of my mind but i think i would give reimold a shot. he's not fast but he knows how to get on base and would have protection. or, maybe just bump markakis to leadoff and put hardy at #2 with whoever plays 2b in the 9 hole? either way it's something that i really hope buck already knows exactly how he will handle it incase it happens.

you reading my mind? i was thinking reimold too rofl. but it would most likely be pie (shocking). Maybe even Hardy, which is fucking weird.
But yea man i hope roberts can stay healthy, otherwise we are in deep shit.

I love adams, but His defense is literally THAT bad. i have seen him play on numerous occassions at bowie and frederick and he looked terrible on D. I hope to god he gets better. He has a good bat.

i doubt it would be pie, he has no business hitting anywhere near the top of a batting order. reimold's discipline is far superior and buck knows it. if he is going to bench vlad, lee, or scott in a rotation or something in order to let pie hit leadoff he is 100x better off doing it to let reimold hit leadoff.

if brob goes down though i don't think it would be anywhere near as devastating as last year though since we actually have more than markakis, jones, and scott this year.

buck likes izzy though, would he actually let him bat leadoff though? i don't know, i'd like to hope not.

vlad, brob, lee, pie, and hardy are all injury risks though and it is almost a guarantee at least 1 of them will spend time on the DL and it is likely 2 or more of them will be on it. if i know it than buck has known it since before i was born and he likely has a plan.

for the record i don't think reimold would leadoff and i'm not saying he would even be a good leadoff hitter just that i would give him a few games hitting there if brob got hurt and see how he does.

i have no clue what will happen without brob, likely it would be one of hardy, markakis, or izturis but you never know with buck.

i understand what you are saying. im a little drunk so i dont want to write a bunch of shit that wont make sense when i read it tomorrow. Buck doesnt bat izzy higher than 9th even in spring trainting lol so i doubt tha twould happen. honeslty i dont have a clue who else could hit first lol. You seriously may have been 100% correct with nolan, although i feel as if the front office never agrees with me and you <_<

All of the new player portraits are available for viewing on gameday.
Matusz looks like a fuckin' G.

Edit: Also, can't get a hold of relatives in Tokyo :(

Edit #2: Got a hold of my great aunt in Tokyo. My cousin lives about 20 miles from Sendai :( Shit.

Britton goes another 4 innings without giving up a run. Has not given up a run yet this spring. He got out of a huge jam in the 4th inning, 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. In the first 3 innings 8 of the 9 outs were on groundballs, the other out was on a strikeout. Give this kid a rotation spot.

Adams continuing his impressive ST as well. As of now he is 2-3 with a double, rbi, and 2 runs scored. His batting average this spring is at .462 now.
