I've always liked Aviles, him and Escobar are always the two SS that I felt the Jays could use well a while back.

I don't mind seeing him go. Compensation is meh, but the real story now is who will manage the Jays in 2013

Brian Butterfield, Sandy Alomar Jr, or Don Wakamatsu are the only people I see being manager.

I would prefer Butterfield.

farrell being gone is great. i will boo him next year, he clearly valued the boston job over his position here which is a slap in the face to the organization. i don't have a problem with his in game management as those moves don't have a big impact in the standings but his discipline was atrocious. it seems like this team just ran wild this season, doing whatever they pleased. lawrie clearly needs someone to put him in his place or i fear his potential will not be reached. escobar making it to the field with that saying in his eye black is embarrassing to say the least if you're supposed to be responsible for these guys. team was piss poor on the base paths, somewhere the manager can actually have an impact, and the pitching staff did not improve.
